A stylish combination consisting of two vintage Volkswagen buses was put up for auction at Car & Classic. The tractor with a three-seater cabin is made on the basis of one single-volume vehicle, and the trailer with a tent on the roof is made from another. The interior of the motorhome is simple: there is only a refrigerator, a large bed, lockers and flat areas that can be used as tables.

The road train looks authentic: both the tractor and the trailer are made in the same style, the paint is well preserved, there are no signs of corrosion, dents or scratches. It is important that the restomod is officially registered in the UK: it has license plates and all the benefits required for vintage cars. The documents indicate the year of manufacture of the tractor in 1963, and the design corresponds to this time.

The technology is modern: under the hood of the Volkswagen T2 is a 2.0-liter turbo engine from an Audi S3. The power is transmitted through a robotic gearbox. It looks like the road train will be quite playful, with much more power than the original bus from the 1960s. But there are no modern security systems: neither active nor passive.

Four days before the end of the auction, £22,500 is ready to be paid for the road train, and the reserve has not yet been reached. Auctioneers refrain from making price predictions.
