Former Jaguar designer Ian Callum, who created his own studio Callum, announced a new project. At the Concours on Savile Row event in London, a specialist showed a futuristic Skye SUV with an all-electric powertrain. The new model, which differs from everything that is currently on the market, will be offered to customers in two versions – a road version for asphalt highways and an off-road version for rough terrain.

The electric car has a buggy-style body, and the interior will be made deliberately laconic. The layout is announced according to the 2+2 scheme, but the creators of Skye immediately warn that children will fit in the second row at best, but the seats can be folded and the trunk can be increased. The column-shaped center console will feature rotary touch-screen dials for controlling the climate system and other key functions.

The discreet dashboard is designed for maximum functionality, and the touchscreen multimedia will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Measuring 4,047 millimeters long, 1,900 millimeters wide and weighing just 1,150 kilograms, the Skye boasts sports car performance, with a 0-60 mph time of less than four seconds.

The car will receive a 42-kilowatt-hour battery, which will provide a range of up to 275 kilometers without recharging, and as an option, a battery with fast charging in just 10 minutes will be offered. It is stated that the cost of Callum Skye will be from 80 to 110 thousand pounds, and orders are already open – everyone who wants to get an electric car must make a deposit of 500 pounds and wait for the official premiere, at which all the details about the new product will be revealed.
