In 2021, the South Korean company Genesis chose the American Monterey Car Week exhibition as the venue for the premiere of racing concepts for the popular Gran Turismo series of games – the main exhibit of the experimental installation The Performance of Design then became the G70 GR4 Gran Turismo sedan, developed with the participation of gamers along with the X-GR3 model and flagship supercar Vision Gran Turismo Concept. In 2023, during the Gran Turismo World Series World Finals, the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept premiered.

The new product is described as “the most emotional expression of the Genesis brand’s signature Athletic Elegance design philosophy.” The supercar features carefully crafted aerodynamics with a splitter and wing elegantly integrated into the body, and in addition, the X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept debuted a new front design in which the Crest Grille is integrated with proprietary Quad Lights optics.

Painted in bright Magma color, the concept car received an interior in the Beauty of White Space style, which implies maximum laconicism without distracting the driver from the track. The rider has at his disposal a multifunctional steering wheel with an integrated digital instrument panel. The pilot is also assisted by an artificial intelligence and augmented reality system, which makes it easier to control the situation outside the car.

The interior, like the body and chassis, is made entirely of carbon fiber – soft upholstery is provided only in areas that directly touch the pilot’s body. Surprisingly, the X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept is equipped not with an electric powertrain, but with a hybrid powertrain. The concept car is equipped with a V6 petrol engine of the Lambda 11 family, which is complemented by a Genesis E-SC electric motor.

The total output of the hybrid power plant is 1071 horsepower and 1337 Nm of torque: 870 horsepower and 1071 Nm come from the V6, capable of spinning up to 10,000 rpm, and the Yasa E electric motor provides an additional 201 horsepower and 266 Nm. The new virtual supercar Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept in the game Gran Turismo 7 will appear in January 2024 along with the next update of the video game.
