New tires will be available at the beginning of the next spring-summer season. Torero MP-47 Hectorra 3 for passenger cars, Torero MP-72 for crossovers, as well as Torero MP-82 Conquerra, aimed at light commercial vehicles, will appear in stores. The entire model range is a complete analogue of Matador tires, which belong to the Continental concern.
After leaving the Russian market, Continental prohibited the new owner of the plant from producing tires under the previous names. The enterprise in Kaluga was acquired by the S8 Capital holding, whose specialists found a way to refuse to use the names of the German manufacturer.
The Russian holding retained all the equipment, as well as suppliers. Specialists continued producing Matador tires under a different name. The company emphasized that under the Torero brand they will produce time-tested tires, the most popular among domestic motorists.
At the end of August, experts predicted that Chinese firms would occupy a third of the tire market in Russia. At the same time, the cost of tires from the Middle Kingdom greatly depends on the exchange rate.
