According to the Soglasie insurance company, the largest number of policies for cars of the revived brand were purchased in Moscow. The capital, where the production of Moskvich cars was organized at the ex-Renault plant, accounted for about half (47 percent) of all insurance issued, experts estimate. The reason is simple: many Moskvich cars are used in local taxis and car sharing.

Tula is in second place in terms of popularity of “Muscovites” by a large margin. It accounts for eight percent of all issued MTPL and comprehensive insurance contracts. In third place is Yekaterinburg with six percent.

In addition to them, drivers from more than 40 Russian cities have signed contracts for Moskvichi. At the same time, more than half of car owners decided to apply for comprehensive insurance in addition to the mandatory “motor citizenship”. They paid an average of 8,392 rubles for compulsory motor liability insurance, and 58,399 rubles for comprehensive insurance.

In the year since the start of production, Moskvich produced 31 thousand cars, including four thousand electric cars. However, he sold only 12 thousand, shipping more than 15 thousand to car dealerships.

Meanwhile, the Moskvich 3 crossover suddenly lost power. On the brand’s website, the output of the 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine is 136 horsepower instead of the previous 150. The plant explained this by switching to a new certificate, according to which measurements are taken.
