This technology, the author of which was the Nanotechnology Center for Composites, was used for the first time in the capital during the construction of a residential complex. Rubber slabs have a number of advantages over conventional concrete ones: for example, they are three times lighter and do not require special preparation before installation.

Rubber road slabs are not as susceptible to damage and destruction as conventional concrete ones. In addition, a standard 4×2 meter rubber slab weighs only 950 kilograms, which is three times lighter than a concrete element of the same size.

Also, slabs made from recycled tires do not require such expensive preparatory work before installation, but they can even support heavy construction equipment – the densest versions of the slab can even deploy tracked equipment weighing up to 110 tons.

Last December, Russian scientists proposed another innovative solution for domestic roads. Specialists from Perm Technical University reported that they are working on a technology for building roads with heated layers.

Be careful, drunken toad!
