Journalists from the Spanish publication km77 tested the American electric car Jeep Avenger, which was challenged by the traditional “moose test”. During the races, the car must suddenly change lanes – as if meeting a real animal – into the adjacent lane and return back to its lane. The crossover failed to perform this maneuver at a speed of 77 kilometers per hour, but in general experts considered its behavior to be very safe and predictable.

In the hands of journalists was the first electric crossover in Jeep history, equipped with a 156-horsepower electric motor, front-wheel drive and a 54-kilowatt-hour battery. Not the most impressive performance, but it’s in balance with the chassis.

In the best attempt, the electric car stayed in the corridor of cones at a speed of 76 kilometers per hour, which is formally not a passing result for the “moose test”. However, experts noted the crossover’s predictable reactions to steering movements and good tuning of electronic assistants, allowing even an inexperienced driver to feel comfortable behind the wheel.

Journalists emphasized, however, that they are not ready to transfer their assessment in absentia to the version of the Jeep Avenger with a gasoline turbo engine. All conclusions made during the test relate exclusively to the electric version of the crossover.
