The authors of the Hagerty channel organized another race in a straight line, in which they brought three iconic models from the “German Big Three” head to head. But this time the participants in the drag race were not modern Audi, BMW and Mercedes-AMG, but their illustrious predecessors from the 1990s. Bloggers selected two station wagons to compete with the legendary Mercedes-Benz 500E sedan – the Audi RS 2 Avant and the BMW M5 Touring. By the way, Porsche specialists had a hand in the RS 2 Avant and 500E.

The Audi RS2 Avant all-wheel drive station wagon has a 5-cylinder 2.2-liter turbo engine under the hood that develops 315 horsepower. The engine works in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission, and the Ingolstadt creation weighs about one and a half tons.

The E34 generation BMW M5 Touring station wagon is equipped with a 335-horsepower 3.8-liter inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine, which is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Munich station wagon weighs about 1800 kilograms.

The legendary Mercedes-Benz 500E sedan in the W124 body features a 325-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission and a weight of less than 1,800 kilograms. Like the BMW model, the Mercedes-Benz sedan has rear-wheel drive.
