The head of the brand, Jim Morrison, confirmed to reporters that the rechargeable hybrid is still in development, but such a pickup truck cannot be expected in 2024. Jeep’s top manager recalled that the American brand promised to electrify its entire line by 2025. “Apparently, the Jeep Gladiator 4xe will premiere by this time,” Morrison made it clear.

Jeep promised to release a rechargeable hybrid Gladiator 2.5 years ago, but for unknown reasons the most economical version has been delayed. The diesel pickup will soon be removed, the Gladiator family has undergone a planned restyling, but there is still no expansion of the engine range.

American journalists complain that after the update, the Jeep Gladiator is available with the uncontested 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 naturally aspirated engine. With this engine, the pickup consumes 12.3 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle. The result of the “related” Wrangler 4xe is 4.8 liters per 100 kilometers, and you can drive up to 34 kilometers without wasting fuel at all.

The Jeep Gladiator 4xe will likely be shared with the Wrangler 4xe, although by 2025 the American brand may improve the design by adding a more efficient traction battery and an economical electric motor.
