The American team Hoonigan, which in addition to preparing cars for racing, also runs its own blog, presented a new episode of its project This vs. That. In the new straight race, bloggers continued the theme of off-road races with the participation of ultra-modernized all-terrain vehicles. The opponents of the next duel were modified Ford and Jeep with 6-cylinder engines.

Instead of pure power, race organizers in such duels give the power-to-weight ratio. The 1991 Ford Explorer has a figure of 0.028, powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V6 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive.

The model has independent suspension at the front and a solid axle at the rear. The Jeep Cherokee of the same 1991 has an all-round dependent suspension, but the power-to-weight ratio is higher – 0.034. The gearbox is similar, a 5-speed manual, but the engine is different – also a 4.0-liter 6-cylinder, but this time in-line.

Real SUVs: are they even left?
