As the press service of the khokimiyat of the Syrdarya region reports on the official telegram channel, Asaka Motors International plans to launch production of Korean brand cars. The company has already entered into a corresponding agreement with Hyundai. At the first stage, “large-block assembly” will be organized for the Elantra and Sonata sedans, the Palisade, Santa Fe and Tucson crossovers, as well as the Staria minivan. The process is planned to be launched in May 2024.

According to Asaka Motors’ plans, by the end of this year the plant will master the processes of welding, painting and advanced assembly. The second stage will be the transition to a full cycle of those models that will be popular. To achieve this, a welding and painting line will be built at the plant, and production of auto components will be located next door.

Earlier it became known that another company from Uzbekistan, ADM Jizzakh, intends to organize production of the budget crossover Kia Sonet in the country, and in a full cycle – with welding and painting. Sonnets are still being assembled there, but this is a pre-restyling model from 2020.

And at the beginning of 2024, a joint venture between BYD and UzAuto opened in the Jizzakh region, with a design capacity of 50 thousand cars per year. Two models entered the production line: hybrids Song Plus and Chazor. In the future, the production volume of cars of this Chinese brand is planned to increase to 300 thousand units per year.
