The Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar has come a long and difficult path from prototype to production model, and in parallel with the road version of the extreme coupe, the British automaker was working on its even rarer limited track version of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro. Based on this modification, a racing hypercar will be created according to the technical requirements of the competition of the same name, with which the brand will return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans marathon.

The track version of the Valkyrie AMR Pro received an extended chassis with aggressive aerodynamics, a carbon body and a 1014-horsepower naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12. The model was originally designed as the basis for a racing hypercar, but Aston Martin’s plans changed and the company abandoned the creation of a factory team for the WEC and IMSA World Endurance Championships.

But the developments will not be lost, since the project has attracted the interest of the American racing team Heart of Racing. The team, created by the famous American businessman Gabe Newell, already uses Aston Martin Vantage GT3 cars in IMSA. Now the team, with the support of the plant, has begun adapting the Valkyrie AMR Pro to the requirements of the hypercar class and in 2025 intends to enter at least one car each in WEC and IMSA.

The main improvements to the British hypercar will affect the aerodynamics, which will need to be brought into line with racing requirements, as well as the engine, since in the hypercar class it is allowed to have less power than the track Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro. The adaptation of the car to professional motorsport will be carried out by the factory division of Aston Martin Performance Technologies together with specialists from Heart of Racing.
