In 2023, at a tuning exhibition in Essen, Germany, the premiere of another car for the German police, created as part of the annual Tune it! project, took place. Safe!. The Irmscher tuning studio, which specializes in modifying Opel cars, chose an unusual Volkswagen, a minibus, as its base model. Volkswagen ID.Buzz, adapted for law enforcement agencies, was named Imrscher Volkswagen ID.Buzz Polizei-Edition.

Irmscher improvements include new springs that reduce the ride height by 20-25 millimeters for better handling, as well as a carbon fiber aerodynamic body kit that includes a splitter, side skirts and a spoiler above the rear window. The exterior is complemented by 20-inch Hydra-Star Design wheels with Hankook iON evo SUV tires.

The interior remains standard, apart from the optional Irmscher I Box module, which allows you to turn the minibus into an analogue of a motor home for police recreation in a few minutes. The electric car did not receive any technical modifications – except for the installation of flashing lights, communication systems and the signature blue-and-yellow German police livery from Securlux.

Project Tune it! Safe! has been implemented for almost 20 years with the support of the German government. Extra-budgetary funds finance the construction of show cars for the police, who use the cars in educational events to promote safe tuning. In 2023, the project partners included the Federal Ministry of Digital Technology and Transport (BMDV), the Association of Automotive Tuners (VDAT), the tire manufacturer Hankook and a number of other companies.
