The coupe received an engine boosted to 200 horsepower, a gearbox from the E21 generation BMW 323i and an adjustable KW suspension. The modifications made the car wider and stockier, although overall it remained fairly close to the original concept. There are no newfangled electronics here, and even the interior is kept in the spirit of the original.

The German studio Manhart Performance decided to focus heavily on tuning classics and this year launched the Manhart Classics program. Her firstborn was the Integrale 400 hatchback based on the Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16V. Then the MH3 3.5 Turbo coupe was introduced, based on the E30 generation BMW M3. Now the studio has announced an even more interesting project – Manhart Alpina 2002 tii. The original two-door has been preserved as much as possible. However, they again could not do without their own modifications.

Since this is a BMW 2002 tii, under the hood there is a 2.0-liter M10 four. On stock cars, this engine developed 130 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. On the Alpins, the output was a little higher – 162 power and 180 Nm. Manhart went further and boosted the engine to 200 horsepower and 215 Nm, which is quite good considering the car weighs less than a ton. The Germans supplied Alpina intake/exhaust manifolds and throttle body, a K&N filter, and their own exhaust system. At the same time, the five-speed “mechanics” was borrowed from the BMW 323i of the E21 generation (1975-1983).

The brakes, by the way, are also from three rubles. In addition, the Manhart Alpina 2002 tii has Raab-Classics coilovers, a Wiechers brace and an Alpina Clubsport half-frame. The wheels are Alpina compound wheels with a diameter of 16 inches. Using spacers, the track was widened by 50 millimeters. Plus they added so-called pig cheeks (“pig cheeks”) – arch extensions, which made the body even more squat. The car was painted BMW Agave Green and featured Alpina graphics. The interior maintains the spirit of the original, so even vintage Scheel chairs and analogue instruments have been preserved. The cost of such a car is 149 thousand euros, which corresponds to 15.4 million rubles.
