The American team Hoonigan, which in addition to preparing cars for racing, also runs its own blog, presented a new episode of its project This vs. That. In the new straight race, bloggers pitted the Subaru WRX STI sedan against the Ford F-150 pickup, and both cars were professionally prepared for straight racing and had, plus or minus, equal opportunities. And this makes the battle of two dissimilar cars very interesting for the viewer.

The 2016 Japanese sedan is equipped with a heavily upgraded 2.5-liter boxer turbo engine that develops an impressive 1,150 horsepower. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and Subaru’s signature all-wheel drive. The WRX STI weighs just over one and a half tons.

The Ford pickup is significantly heavier – more than two tons – and the 2020 car accounts for this weight by 900 forces, which are removed from the 5.0-liter turbo V8 engine. The F-150 comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Both models are shod with drag slicks, which help maximize their potential on asphalt.
