Telegram channel “Autopotok” drew attention to the application published in the Rospatent database – this is a graphic design of the Couggo logo. The copyright holder is the Chinese company Chery Automobile. Couggo is not only consonant with Tiggo, the name of the brand’s line of crossovers, but also with the English cougar, which translates as “puma.” It is possible that this will be the name of the new family of cars.

There are no details about the use of the new Couggo logo. This could be either a new sub-brand like Omoda, Jaecoo or Exeed, or the designation of a specific line of cars like Tiggo. On the other hand, just because Chery has patented a graphic image does not mean that it intends to use it.

Chery is curtailing sales of three models in Russia The updated Chery Tiggo 7 costs in China the same as the Lada Niva Legend in Russia The updated Chery Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 7 have been declassified entirely

To date, the Chery lineup consists of seven crossovers, the name of which includes Tiggo: these are Tiggo 4 Pro, Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Tiggo 7 Pro Max Plug-in Hybrid, as well as Tiggo 8, Tiggo 8 Pro Max and two hybrids – Tiggo 8 Pro e+ Hybrid and Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-in Hybrid. In addition to them, the brand also sells the Arrizo 8 sedan on the Russian market.

Hybrids, as well as electric vehicles, which the company intends to bring to Russia in the future, will be separated into a separate Chery NEV line. This sub-brand will unite models from different segments – two electric cars of A- and C-classes, as well as hybrids of E-, C- and B-classes are expected.
