At the Guangzhou Motor Show, a presentation of the local version of the three-row all-terrain vehicle took place. This version differs from the American Nissan Pathfinder in its body, design of the infotainment complex and technology. For Russians, the localization of the crossover at Dongfeng-Nissan facilities is very interesting, because the DF6 pickup truck from this plant is officially sold here.

The Chinese Nissan Pathfinder does not have a single body part in common with the American model of the same name. The length differs significantly: the crossover from Dongfeng-Nissan is 126 millimeters larger due to increased overhangs. However, the chassis architecture is common, and the wheelbase is identical down to the millimeter.

In the cabin, the fundamental difference between the “Chinese” is the media system and virtual dashboard, combined into one console. The front panel and climate ducts have changed slightly, but everything else is unified. On both sides of the ocean, the cabin is seven-seater in a 2 + 2 + 3 configuration. However, there will also be more comfortable six-seater configurations.

Due to the peculiarities of taxation, the Chinese did not get a combination of a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 and a 9-speed automatic transmission. The crossover is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-four (252 horsepower, 380 Nm) with variable compression ratio and a CVT with eight virtual gears. There will be front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, although the configurations will be revealed later.

The new Nissan Pathfinder will appear on the Chinese domestic market in early 2024. And the version under the Dongfeng brand may well reach Russia without losing the warranty, because frame SUVs and pickups created jointly with Nissan are imported into our country through official channels.
