It’s hard to imagine a car more Italian than the Fiat 500, just as it’s hard to find a more Italian delicacy than gelato. It is all the more surprising that these two symbols of Italy were brought together by British engineers. Fiat UK has built a one-of-a-kind Fiat 500e Gelateria Edition ice cream van based on the electric Fiat 500e Convertible. Especially for this event, a special kind of gelato was even developed.

The Gelateria Edition features a unique two-tone color finish, reminiscent of the spirit of classic 1950s Italian ice cream, with interiors and exteriors finished in rich blues and creams. The rear seats have been removed and in their place is a cabinet that houses dual battery-powered freezers that can hold up to 30 liters of ice cream.

This is enough to serve approximately 300 people a day. The car also received additional accessories, such as horns, baths and spoons. Trays for ice cream are placed on top of the cabinet, and there are regular places for folding sun loungers.

For convenience, you can completely remove the roof by deploying a retro-style canopy instead. To attract customers, a special signal was made, inspired by the sounds of Italian operas. The body and interior of the unique van are adorned with bronze-coloured Gelateria logos stylized as handwritten. A special variety of gelato is made from coffee, chocolate and oat milk.
