An association of employees of the Honda plant in the USA called HART (Honda of America Racing Team) presented their new project: a racing Acura Integra, which will take part in the Lake Superior Performance rally. The sports car corresponds to the Limited 2WD class, that is, it is close to a production car, but is equipped with a safety cage. In the upcoming race, the rally Integra will compete with the Subaru BRZ, Ford Fiesta ST and Lexus IS.

Limited 2WD vehicles meet a number of requirements: they must have a roll cage and a 1.6-liter turbo engine. The rally version differs from the regular Acura Integra in off-road tires and an additional lighting unit on the hood, but otherwise the car is almost exactly the same as the standard model. Team HART will race in a red and black Yokohama livery.

The Acura Integra, which debuted in the U.S. in 2022 in the premium compact liftback segment, already has some sporting credentials. For example, last summer Integra performed at Pikes Peak for the first time, and in 2023 the “charged” liftback Integra Type S was tested by Formula 1 drivers Sergio Perez and Tom Blomqvist, who were satisfied with it.

In August, the Integra Type S was prepared for the TC America Series championship – the factory division of Honda Performance Development (HPD) was responsible for this. The technical regulations of the TCX class allow for an increase in power: the engine was slightly modernized, boosting it from 325 to 360 horsepower. In addition, this Integra Type S has a suspension with adjustable shock absorbers and a custom rear anti-roll bar, new control arms and sports shock absorbers and springs.
