The average cost of a used car from October 2022 to October 2023 increased by 24.4 percent, experts from the analytical agency Avtostat calculated after studying data on the secondary market. This year alone, from January to October, the price of used cars increased by an average of 203 thousand rubles, or 15.4 percent.

In October, the average cost of a used car in Russia increased to 1.52 million rubles, analysts found out after studying advertisements on the secondary market. Back in January 2023, cars were sold for an average of 1.32 million, and in October 2022 this figure was 1.22 million rubles.

Cars are becoming more expensive amid a reduction in supply on the secondary market: in September, less than 955 thousand ads from dealers and private owners were posted on classified ads. For comparison, at the beginning of the year there were 1.3 million. Experts note that cars are selling faster and faster.

Thus, according to Avito Auto, the Chinese crossover Haval Jolion finds new owners the fastest – advertisements for it are removed in less than a day. On average, they pay two million rubles for a model. Russians are also snapping up the relatively “fresh” Kia Seltos and Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris and Creta.
