The jury of the annual North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) awards will determine the best vehicles in three categories: passenger car, crossover/SUV and pickup truck. This year, both traditional ICE cars and electric cars reached the semi-finals.

Thus, the BMW 5-Series and electric i5, Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, Ford Mustang, Honda Accord, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Subaru Impreza, as well as three Toyota models: Crown, GR Corolla and Prius will compete for the title of the best passenger car in North America. Prius Prime.

The list of semi-finalists in the Best SUV category is as follows: Chevrolet Blazer and Equinox, Genesis GV70, Kia EV9 and Volvo EX30, Dodge Hornet, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-90 and Toyota Grand Highlander.

Finally, the popular pickup truck segment in the United States includes the Chevrolet Colorado, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Ford Ranger, Ford Super Duty and GMC Canyon.

As always, the winners will be selected by an expert jury consisting of several dozen automotive journalists and experts. In three rounds they will weed out one car from 47 applicants in each of three categories.

Last year, the best passenger car was the Acura Integra, the best crossover was the electric Kia EV6, and the best pickup was the battery-powered Ford F-150 Lightning.
