In the 1990s, the FIA created the GT1 racing car class, one of the most prominent representatives of which was the Porsche 911 GT1. The cars were developed to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans marathon, so it was necessary to produce a batch of cars for public roads. Only 20 examples were made, which are in private collections and the Porsche factory collection. The plant was not afraid to bring one of its priceless specimens onto the road.

The Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion with a 3.2-liter boxer turbo engine producing 545 horsepower and a 6-speed manual transmission accelerated from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in less than four seconds and could reach a top speed of over 300 kilometers per hour.

One of the copies of the supercar at auction in 2017 was sold for $5.6 million, and today the cost of the 911 GT1 Strassenversion may well exceed ten million. But that didn’t stop Porsche from bringing the priceless example onto public roads.

The German automaker took the museum piece and took it on a mountain road trip, showing the Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion in action on twisty roads, tight hairpins and in tunnels. The result was a spectacular video in the style of the cult game Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed.
