In 2023, in Dubai, as part of the Icons of Porsche festival, the German automaker celebrated its own 75th anniversary, as well as the 60th anniversary of the iconic 911 model. For this event, Porsche has prepared a special Porsche 911 Turbo, which is designed to pay tribute to the very first generation of the 911 Turbo model . Moreover, a unique car was used as a prototype, once created personally by Ferry Porsche for his sister Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday.

Unlike the production 911 Turbo with a 3.0-liter turbo engine and a wide body, the first car had a standard 911 Carrera body, which was combined with a large Turbo rear wing and a 2.7-liter turbo engine. The silver body of Louise Piëch’s car is combined with a red tartan interior, black 5-spoke wheels with a polished rim and a black and red retro-style Porsche lettering at the bottom of the sides.

A modern sports car is designed in a similar vein. Specialists from Style Porsche, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Heritage & Museum and Porsche’s regional office in the Middle East and Africa worked on the car – the project was implemented as part of the factory’s Sonderwunsch exclusive car production program.

The initial idea for this project arose a year ago. We wanted to create a modern version of the car that was truly unique. Luckily, there’s no shortage of iconic Porsches to choose from. We decided to “update” one of the greatest icons – the original 911 Turbo, which belonged to Louise Piëch,” said Patrick Gallas, manager of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Porsche Middle East and Africa.
