The project started last year, when one of the brand’s important clients decided to congratulate his father on his 90th birthday in a special way. The heads of the Dubai division met with his father to find out the story of his life and hobbies, from which they drew inspiration. The most noticeable external feature of the crossover is its pinkish pearlescent hue, which refers to the most expensive pearl in the customer’s collection.

The exterior color scheme was created specifically for the “pearl” Cullinan: Rolls-Royce promises that this color will not be found in any other car. The development was approached carefully. The experts at Goodwood carefully selected pigments to imitate the sparkle of natural pearls, combining metallic with mother-of-pearl.

The full-length body panels had to be painted about 30 times until the perfect shade was found. The paint was examined under fluorescent lamps, tested for heat resistance so that it would not degrade under the Dubai sun, and finally the result was shown to the client for approval.

The Pearl Rose hue is combined with rose gold accents, including the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, wheel center section and each door sill insert. In the interior, which was not shown in its entirety, leather of different colors was used: the front seats are gray, and the rear ones are red, like a cushion for displaying pearls. Walnut veneer is also used, reminiscent of wooden boxes.

The seats are decorated with embroidered RR monograms and pink threads. The folding tables are inspired by both shells and traditional Arabic patterns: each is decorated with 1,351 individual pieces of mother-of-pearl. On the walnut front panel there is a watch with mother-of-pearl, also made to order, and a reference to the hero of the day – the Arabic word for “father” in the center.

The British brand showed a not unique, but limited-edition Ghost Black Badge earlier in October. It was called Ékleipsis and was dedicated to a solar eclipse, equipped with a ceiling with many “stars” that imitate the celestial phenomenon. The sedan’s circulation is 25 copies.
