The N1 machine was developed by engineers of the Russian company EvoCargo. The first such truck with a range of up to 200 kilometers began to ply through the territory of the Vnukovo-2 logistics center. Within a month, specialists will conduct the necessary tests and also explore the possibility of eliminating the human factor when performing routine tasks.

The Evocargo N1 has a load capacity of two tons. On one battery charge, the electric truck can travel about 200 kilometers. The developers equipped the car with a fifth-generation autopilot, which operates on the basis of a machine vision system.

Neural networks make it possible to determine the location of a truck in real time, as well as calculate a safe speed taking into account the surrounding situation. At the same time, the maximum speed of the car is electronically limited to 20 kilometers per hour. Before starting real tests, the developers tested the electric truck in virtual reality. To do this, experts created a “digital twin” of the territory of Russian Post, through which the drone was cruising.

The new machine will eliminate the human factor when performing routine tasks. In addition, autonomous transport will help optimize logistics, as well as increase the level of control of transportation through data collection and analysis. According to representatives of EvoCargo, the production of drones is localized by 70 percent.

At the end of March, it became known that autonomous trucks would enter the M-12 Vostok highway. Today, driverless cars travel only on one highway.
