The peak power of the two electric motors has increased by almost a third, resulting in the electric car accelerating faster to 60 mph (97 kilometers per hour).
Tesla Model 3 was updated last fall, but then the top and most powerful dual-engine Performance modification was not shown. Her debut took place just now. Externally, the Performance version differs from others in its aerodynamic body kit – a more developed splitter and diffuser, as well as a new spoiler at the stern. Tesla claims that as a result of the improvements, lift was reduced by 36 percent and air resistance by five. The interior was equipped with seats with more developed lateral support and expanded electrical adjustments. Heating and ventilation functions are also promised.

As for the improved performance, in addition to a 31 percent increase in peak output of the unit, peak torque increased by 16 percent and constant power increased by 22 percent. At the same time, energy consumption was reduced by two percent. Two electric motors produce a total of 517 horsepower and 741 Nm of torque on the Model 3 Performance. From zero to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour), this electric car accelerates in 2.9 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor, and the top speed is 262 kilometers per hour. The declared range according to the American EPA cycle is 476 kilometers.
The suspension has also been improved: lighter and stiffer springs have been used, and adaptive shock absorbers have three operating modes – Standard, Sport and Track. In addition, the Model 3 Performance received upgraded brakes and 20-inch wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero 4 tires.
Prices have already been announced: in the US, the Tesla Model 3 Performance costs $53,000 excluding delivery to the dealership and tax benefits. This is equivalent to 4.9 million rubles.
