The arrival of the new year also marked the end of an era for the Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle car duo, at least as we knew them. However, the American automaker didn’t give us time to be sad by showing us photos of the near-production version of the 2025 Dodge Charger.

The production version bears a striking resemblance to the 2022 Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee concept. An interesting feature is the presence of a charging port and a gas tank flap (more on this later). Meanwhile, the shot of the rear of the car shows a spoiler on the trunk lid, which we didn’t see on the concept.

Dodge is officially calling it a “pre-production model” and confirms sales will begin towards the end of the year. This means that while the automaker may still have time to tweak the final design before production, it looks very close to the final design.

Despite all the rumors that the Charger will now only be offered as an electric vehicle, this is most likely not true. It is believed that the car may also receive a Hurricane inline-six engine. It is not yet clear whether this will be an ICE-only option or a hybrid version.

As for the electric Charger EV, it will be offered in several versions. The basic version will have one electric motor producing 408 hp. (300 kW) and rear-wheel drive. The upcoming twin-engine variant is expected to produce 680 hp. (500 kW) and all-wheel drive. The top model will offer 897 hp. (660 kW).
