The rally 3008 will be sold at the RM Sotheby’s auction, which will be held in Munich at the end of November. This buggy took part in the Dakar and other races, including under the control of multiple world rally champion Sebastien Loeb. According to preliminary estimates, the 2017 buggy will be sold for 350-650 thousand euros (34.5-64 million rubles at today’s exchange rate).

This 3008 DKR was originally piloted by Cyril Despres, who finished third at the 2017 Dakar. It was later sold to Arab driver Khalid Al-Qassim, who drove for the private Peugeot PH Sport team. And in 2021, 3008 DKR returned to the Dakar and was driven by Sebastien Loeb, who finished the rally raid in third place.

Before the diesel buggy was put up for auction, it underwent a thorough restoration. The engine is original: V6 biturbodiesel, which produces 340 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. It works in tandem with a six-speed sequential gearbox. The buggy is capable of reaching a speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

The 3008 DKR is built around a tubular frame, has carbon fiber body panels and double wishbone suspension. The fuel tank is designed for 400 liters.

This is not the first time that a car that participated in the Dakar has been auctioned off. In 2018, the Dakar Porsche 959 was put up for auction – one of three examples of the sports car built for the 1985 Paris-Dakar Rally. The same car appeared at auction again two years later, in 2020.
