The show car, which will debut on September 2, 2023, will be the first BMW to feature a new electric architecture, and its appearance will determine the direction of Bavarian car design. A short video shows the “nostrils”, which are two screens with white elements that resemble the lamellas of a traditional lattice. Smooth overflows of illumination, as conceived by the artists, should imitate breathing.

The angular lines are reminiscent of the grille-blank contour of the i Vision Dee Concept, which BMW unveiled at CES in Las Vegas in January to showcase the latest in technology. In the center of the Vision Neue Klasse is an embossed brand logo, which seems to be stamped into the hood itself.

This is not the first teaser of the concept. Earlier this week, BMW posted a blurry image of taillights with similar lighting elements. The salon will be decorated concisely: instead of a giant display, a thin screen with the most necessary information will be located at the top of the front panel.

BMW management noted that the concept will be close to production cars on the Neue Klasse platform. The company plans to build six electric cars on it, releasing them with a difference of two years. The first will be a sedan, the second – a compact crossover.

The new architecture allows the use of power plants with a capacity of up to 1314 horsepower and batteries with a capacity of 75 to 150 kilowatt-hours. These will be Gen6 generation batteries that are 50 percent cheaper to manufacture and provide 30 percent more range than older batteries of similar capacity.
