Patent images are published by Motor1.com, from which you can get a complete picture of how the next Duster turned out. The crossover will be transformed and become more brutal, technologically advanced and safe, and will also surpass its predecessor in size and acquire the most powerful version in the history of the model. The premiere of the new generation Duster will take place in Portugal on November 29, but there the car will be presented under the Dacia brand.

The third generation Duster is built in accordance with the new Dacia design concept, which was first demonstrated by the Bigster concept car. It has Y-shaped rear lights, a new tailgate design with stamping, black decorative trims behind the front arches with slots and a narrow radiator grille with integrated optics in the form of the same Y. Another innovation is that the rear door handles are now located on the pillars. In addition to all of the above, the crossover has a high hood line, squared wheel arches, and a neat spoiler crowns the roof.

The crossover is based on the modular platform CMF-B of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. In terms of dimensions, the “third” Duster will surpass its predecessor, but will still be more compact than the three-row Bigster, whose length is 4.6 meters. The model features disc brakes on all wheels, a spacious interior and a powerful top-end version.

Some details about the power plants are already available. According to preliminary data, the base will be a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 120 horsepower. Next in the hierarchy will be a 140-horsepower hybrid unit with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine – it will replace diesel units. Finally, the most powerful and expensive Duster is tipped to have a 170-horsepower 1.3-liter turbo engine.

For Russia, the Duster was produced until the spring of 2022 at the Moscow Renault plant. Last year, the assembly stopped with the departure of the French from Russia, and the enterprise was transferred to the balance of the city: now Moskvich cars are produced there. But despite Renault leaving the Russian market, the new Duster may still appear on our roads – it may be brought in through parallel imports.

We can’t wait: new cars are not for us
