The car will have impressive ground clearance, a large roof rack and all-wheel drive. Mitsubishi describes the new product as a crossover MPV – that is, it will combine the practicality of a minivan with the off-road capabilities of a crossover. The show car will be presented in October at the Japan Mobility Show. Perhaps in the future it will be reborn into a new version of the popular Delica D:5.

The concept will have an angular body with frameless glazing and T-shaped LED lights. Similar optics appeared on the first teaser, where the front part is visible. There is a large additional trunk on the roof, cameras take the place of the rear-view mirrors, and the door handles are hidden in the body. An “extremely spacious interior” and off-road capabilities are promised, but Mitsubishi hasn’t revealed any details yet.

It is stated that the MPV will receive an electrified powertrain. However, it is not yet clear whether this will be a pure electric car, since Mitsubishi uses both the word “electrified” and “electric” in the description.

Whether the concept will go into series is also unknown. Perhaps it will form the basis of the new Delica, but it may simply borrow some design cues from the show car. More details will be revealed closer to the premiere.

The Japan Mobility Show will take place from October 27 to November 5 in Tokyo. In addition to the debut of the concept van, Mitsubishi will hold a home premiere of the sixth-generation L200 pickup truck, which was presented in Thailand in the summer – where it is sold under the name Triton.
