The novelty is called the successor of the well-known ASX to Russians – some media even suggested that the model would receive the same name. However, the crossover debuted on August 10 at the Indonesian Motor Show under the original Xforce name. Otherwise, the Xforce and ASX are similar: the same form factor, the same dimensions, only if the ASX has a multi-link rear suspension, then the Xforce has a simplified chassis with a “beam”.

Xforce is the production version of last year’s XFC concept with minimal external changes. It has boomerang-shaped optics with five “strokes” at the bottom, taillights in a similar style and the main feature is sill plates with a scale pattern. The differences come down to 18-inch wheels (the concept had 20-inch ones) and the usual exterior mirrors instead of cameras.

The crossover has 222 mm ground clearance, a system for selecting driving modes with four presets, including a special Wet mode that improves grip on wet roads – especially for countries where tropical showers are commonplace. In addition, the Xforce received an electronic Active Yaw Control (AYC) system, which allows you to control the thrust vector using the brakes.

Inside, there is an eight-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system. There are dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control and a set of electronic assistants. Options include the Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system. It independently changes the volume depending on the speed. And with the help of electronics that follow the road, it will adjust the bass, mids and highs for optimal sound when driving over bumps.

Under the hood, the crossover has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a capacity of 105 horsepower. The gearbox is a variator, and the drive is only front.

Indonesia will be the first market for the crossover, and its production will be organized there. Later, the model will appear in other markets of the ASEAN countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). Simply put, this is a budget model for poor countries. The start of sales is scheduled for November, and according to unofficial information, Xforce will enter the Indonesian market with a starting price of about 20 thousand dollars (less than two million rubles at today’s exchange rate).
