In 2023, the premium Porsche Panamera liftback experienced a generational change – the German automaker held an official presentation of the third generation model. Officially, Porsche calls the car a new generation, although in fact the “new” Panamera is a variant of a deep modernization of the car produced since 2016. However, many changes were made to the model – both at the design level and on the technical side.

The Panamera received modified body panels that allowed it to refresh its appearance, and not only the bumpers, fenders and optics were changed, but also the trunk lid and even the side glazing. Naturally, the design of the rims, their color options and the body palette have changed. A special feature of the liftback was the appearance of the Turbonite color, which was specially developed for the logos and trim of the Turbo versions. The new product has a curved 12.6-inch instrument panel, which is adjacent to a built-in central touchscreen and an optional 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger.

The liftback is already equipped as standard with a PASM suspension with adaptive shock absorbers with separate valves and two-chamber air springs, and for an additional fee the model can be equipped with a fully controlled chassis. The main new feature is the adaptive Porsche Active Ride suspension with active roll suppression, available only for hybrid models – the chassis runs on a 48-volt on-board network and can control the characteristics of each shock absorber individually.

The third generation Panamera line will feature several modifications. The base models will be the rear-wheel drive Panamera and all-wheel drive Panamera 4 with a gasoline 2.9-liter 353-horsepower V6 turbo engine. Later, versions with V8 engines will appear, but only for some markets; four hybrids of the E-Hybrid family will also go on sale at once, of which only the Turbo E-Hybrid version is presented so far.

The new product has an upgraded 4.0-liter 519-horsepower V8 turbo engine, which works in conjunction with a 191-horsepower electric motor integrated into an 8-speed PDK “robot.” The total power has increased to 680 horsepower, and the 25.9-kilowatt-hour battery provides up to 91 kilometers of electric range. Sales of the new generation Panamera in Europe will begin in the spring of 2024. The cost of the new liftback in Germany will be from 107,800 euros for the Panamera, the Panamera 4 model will cost at least 111,900 euros, and the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid will cost 192,500 euros.
