Under this name, the French automaker produced an electric sedan for taxis and rentals, developed jointly with the Chinese Jingliang Motors Corporation (JMC). Mobilize Limo differed from other Renault cars in its nameplates – it had an original emblem instead of the traditional rhombus. The sedan never became successful: last year it was possible to sell 67 copies, and in 2023, no one needed it at all – only seven units were sold.

The Mobilize Limo is a midsize sedan with a spacious second row. It is equipped with a 150-horsepower electric motor mounted on the front axle and a battery with a capacity of 60 kilowatt-hours, one charge of which is enough for 450 kilometers on the WLTP cycle. The maximum speed of the electric car is limited to 140 kilometers per hour, and it accelerates to the first “hundred” in 9.6 seconds.

According to the French publication L’Argus, Renault has already stopped accepting orders for the Mobilize Limo, and the days of the electric sedan on the assembly line are numbered. Journalists cite unfavorable rental conditions as the reason for the failure of the model in the taxi market: for example, in France, Limo could be rented for 1.5 thousand euros per month for six months and with a mileage limit of up to 150 thousand kilometers. To recoup this amount, taxi drivers had to work 12 hours a day and still find time to charge the electric car.

At the same time, the Mobilize division, which is responsible for Renault’s electric models, will continue to exist. The company’s arsenal includes the Mobilize Duo city car, which is an evolution of the tiny Renault Twizy, which was presented in the summer of 2021 along with the platform cargo versions Bento and Hippo. Duo is primarily intended for short-term rental services, including Renault’s own car sharing – Zity.
