Rotten Rice Meet appeared in 2016. The idea was to bring together owners of Japanese cars produced exclusively before 1989, to create a platform for meetings and communication.
Svetlana ParfenovaInitially, the meetings were held in a free format in various parking lots, but, as we said above, with strict qualifications based on the year of production of the cars. Over time, a “new school corner” appeared at the Rotten Rice Meet, where the brightest cars produced after 1990 appear.
Svetlana ParfenovaCurrently, “Rice” takes place in several formats – large-scale opening and closing of the season, travel meetings to another city (Petushki, Yaroslavl, and so on) and classic meetings in Moscow.

Don’t be fooled by the left-hand steering wheel or Eagle Talon badge. The first two generations of Eclipse have “brothers” Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser. All of these cars were produced during Mitsubishi Motors’ partnership with Chrysler Corporation, known as Diamond-Star Motors (DSM). Eclipses were shipped from the United States to Japan and sold there through the Mitsubishi Car Plaza chain. And the owner of the car shown in the photo installed a spoiler and central grille from an Eagle Talon.

The Rotten Rice Meet is unique in that it brings together vintage Japanese cars from before 1989. Over time, the sincere atmosphere of the meeting began to attract owners of more recent JDM machines, but the main idea remained the same. Here you can see a variety of Japanese old school – everything is like in a museum, and even more interesting. After all, at Rotten Rice you can talk with owners of rare cars, look inside and under the hood. A report from the autumn meeting is in our photo gallery.
