This generation change was the first for the crossover: the model has been in service since 2016, but until now it has only been updated. Now the “second” Kodiaq has been presented, which was the first to try on the new corporate style of the Czech brand, acquired a hybrid version with the ability to charge from an outlet and became more spacious. Like the previous generation model, the second generation Kodiaq will have two versions – with five and seven seats.

The exterior design of the Skoda Kodiaq is made in the style of the Vision 7S concept: new stampings have appeared on the hood, the optics and its content have been transformed, the radiator grille looks voluminous, and the rear lights are C-shaped and connected by a luminous strip. In general, the silhouette turned out to be more dynamic compared to its predecessor, including due to the new spoiler on the tailgate. Another difference from the previous Kodiaq, which is not immediately noticeable, is the absence of chrome in the decor.

The dimensions have changed slightly – the Kodiaq has become lower and narrower, but at the same time stretched out in length. The increase came in the trunk: for the five-seat crossover its volume is 910 liters (+75 liters), and for the seven-seat version – 340 liters (70 liters more than the first generation model).

The cabin now features a 10-inch digital instrument panel, an optional head-up display and a touchscreen for the multimedia system in the center – its diagonal is 10 or 13 inches, depending on the configuration. Another important innovation is the automatic transmission selector, which is now located not on the central tunnel, but on the steering column. The finishing uses recycled polyester and natural wool.

The “second” Kodiaq will have five modifications, the most interesting of which is the plug-in hybrid. The installation of such a crossover includes a 1.5-liter turbo engine, which is assisted by an electric motor – in total they develop 204 horsepower. A battery with a capacity of 25.7 kilowatt-hours provides the hybrid with a pure electric power reserve of up to 100 kilometers, and the charge can also be replenished from a direct current “column” with a power of up to 50 kilowatts.

There is also a second electrified version, but with a “mild hybrid” installation with 150 horsepower, as well as a gasoline version with a 2.0 “turbo-four” with a capacity of 204 horsepower and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with an output of 150 or 193 horsepower. All versions with a traditional internal combustion engine are equipped with a DSG robot, and powerful petrol and diesel versions are equipped with all-wheel drive.

The start of sales of the new Skoda Kodiaq in Europe is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024, prices have not yet been announced. The model can reach the Russian market only through parallel imports, since the Czech brand curtailed its activities in the country after the start of the SVO.
