Interfax reports this with reference to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The main owner of Aurus, according to the register, remains FSUE NAMI, subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which owns 63.5 percent of the shares. Another 36 percent is still held by the Emirati fund Tawazun. The latter entered the capital of the Russian company in 2019, investing 110 million euros in Aurus.
It is worth noting that both Sollers and Aurus were previously included in the sanctions lists of the US Treasury. Sollers entered them in mid-September last year, together with AvtoVAZ and Moskvich, and Aurus – in February 2024, simultaneously with FSUE NAMI.
Sollers sold its share of shares in Aurus to Hit Motors Rus LLC, but the details of the transaction are not disclosed. A Sollers representative confirmed this information to Interfax and emphasized that the automotive group “remains an industrial partner of the project and continues to provide welding and body painting services (Aurus are assembled at the Sollers plant in Yelabuga).

It is known about Hit Motors Rus that the company was registered in Moscow in the summer of 2022. As for Aurus, the company’s immediate plans include launching production of passenger cars at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg. It was previously reported that these would include “Toyota Camry format” models. An as yet unnamed Chinese partner will help Aurus implement the project.
