Towards the end of 2023, the presentation of the production version of the Cybertruck electric pickup truck finally took place at the Tesla plant in Austin. Along with the static display, the American automaker demonstrated its new product in motion, and did it in a rather unusual way – it organized very unusual competitions with competitors, one of which was a pulling tractor with electric Ford and Rivian pickups and a Ford diesel truck. This is a popular competition in the United States for high-speed passage of a track with a heavy platform.

As a test, all models were asked to stretch a platform weighing about 16 tons on a trailer, the load on which gradually shifted towards the tractor during movement. The winner was the pickup truck that had pulled its trailer the farthest along the dirt track at that point.

The twin-engine Ford F-150 Lightning dragged the platform 63 meters, the four-engine Rivian R1T – by 78.3 meters, the diesel Ford F-350 with single rear wheels stopped at 80.1 meters, and the flagship three-engine Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast predictably became the clear winner – 97 meters and full tractor-pulling distance.

Not only Cybertruck: new electric pickups
