We are talking about a unique car: the Beijing BJ2030 truck, which was released in 1993. At the turn of the 1980s-1990s, handicraft copies of Jeep SUVs were assembled in China. At the Beijing plant, outdated models on the BJ212 chassis originally from the 1960s were styled as an American SUV. Most of the cars have not survived to this day, but just like this was found in Verkhnyaya Pyshma.

The owner designated the Beijing BJ2030 as “UAZ Bukhanka”, and he is not far from the truth. The fact is that the first Chinese all-terrain vehicle Beijing BJ212 was created according to the drawings of the UAZ-469 and is very reminiscent of a Soviet car. The chassis and frame side members from the factory are the same as those of the Ulyanovsk SUV, and the Russian engine and gearbox were already installed in Verkhnyaya Pyshma.

Probably, initially under the hood of the Beijing BJ2030 a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine 492Q (a clone of the GAZ-21 engine) or a four-cylinder 2.4-liter engine from the original Jeep Cherokee was installed. Now only the stylized plumage has been preserved from the American SUV. They want to get 400 thousand rubles for the miraculously surviving “Chinese” with replaced units.

The Beijing plant has long abandoned handicraft copies of Jeep and now produces its own line of cars. However, the successor to the Soviet GAZ-69/UAZ-69 also remained on the production line: the last update of the BAW BJ212 took place this fall, and the veteran is not going to retire.
