The American team Hoonigan, which in addition to preparing cars for racing, also runs its own blog, presented a new episode of its project This vs. That. In the new straight race, bloggers pitted the modern McLaren supercar in the form of the 570S Spider model against the Volvo 240 station wagon, which has been more than seriously modified and is a classic “sleeper”, the appearance of which does not at all betray its impressive technical content.

McLaren’s one and a half ton supercar is completely standard – the 570S Spider is equipped with a 3.8-liter V8 turbo engine producing 580 horsepower. The engine is combined with a 7-speed robotic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The 2020 model is fast, but its rival is no slower.

It is noteworthy that the 1989 Volvo 240 station wagon is not only more powerful than a supercar, but also lighter than it. Weighing just under one and a half tons, the model has an 860-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 turbo engine coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.
