In China, at the Guangzhou Motor Show, another version of the updated model was shown. Changan Hunter Plus (sold in China under the name Lantop) will be a sequential hybrid with a two- or three-motor power plant. The role of “stroke extender” will be assigned to a 2.0-liter “turbo-four”, but electric motors will rotate the wheels. Power reserve – up to 1031 kilometers!

The appearance of the updated Changan Hunter Plus is not a secret thanks to a leak from the Ministry of Industry and Trade database. Now journalists have been shown a pre-production hybrid and the main characteristics have been clarified. The truck will have versions with rear-wheel drive (177 horsepower) or all-wheel drive (177 horsepower + 95 horsepower), but in any case the generator will be a regular 190-horsepower gasoline engine.

The peak output of the three-motor system and the capacity of the lithium iron phosphate battery are not specified. But it is known: on electric power without activating the internal combustion engine, such a Changan Hunter Plus will be able to travel up to 180 kilometers; the total autonomy of a fully charged and refueled empty truck will be 1031 kilometers. Both measurements are based on the unrealistic CLTC cycle. Fuel consumption in the most economical mode is 1.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

In terms of interior, the hybrid will differ from the regular version with a classic automatic transmission only in the absence of a joystick on the central tunnel. But the chassis is completely different: the three-engine Changan lost its solid rear axle, the front suspension and exhaust system were changed, and a battery was added under the bottom. The automaker claims that operating the hybrid will allow annual savings of 15 thousand yuan ($2,100) compared to the fuel version.

If the hybrid Changan Hunter Plus complements the range, then in China the pickup will be offered with three types of power plants: gasoline, diesel and electric (EREV hybrids enjoy all the benefits of “pure” electric cars). Prices and configurations are expected before the end of the year. In Russia, only petrol versions of the pickup truck are officially sold.
