Sales of the HEV version of the premium model of the FAW concern have begun in the Middle Kingdom. For now, the only rich configuration available is one with a “socketless” gasoline-electric system. Peak output is 190 horsepower and 280 Nm; the front wheels can be driven by either a 1.5 petrol turbo engine or an electric motor. Fuel consumption in the WLTC combined cycle was reduced to 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers.
Hongqi HS3 is the most affordable model from the FAW premium brand. We are talking about a classmate of the Lexus NX of the previous generation: a crossover 4.65 meters long with a transverse engine. According to unofficial data, the HS3 will be brought to Russia in 2024, but we are likely to have an all-wheel drive version with a 2.0-liter turbo engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The newcomer Hongqi HS3 HEV is the slowest in the lineup: acceleration from 0-100 will take 9.1 seconds, and the top speed will be 180 km/h. However, savings on gasoline relative to the single-wheel drive 2.0-liter version can reach 20 percent. The hybrid version has an original DHT transmission with a single-stage gearbox. In terms of interior, all modifications are almost identical.
In China, you will have to pay 189 thousand yuan (26.5 thousand dollars) for a hybrid. The basic Hongqi HS3 (1.5T, 7DCT) costs from 146 thousand yuan ($20.5 thousand), for the all-wheel drive top version (2.0T, 8AT) you need to pay 196 thousand yuan ($27.5 thousand).
