Information about the application for registration of the HZ trademark appeared on the LexusRXOwners forum. Not the most euphonious name for Russian-speaking fans of the brand is being predicted for a compact crossover, which will be smaller than the mid-size RZ all-terrain vehicle. From the document it follows that the model will have at least three modifications with the indexes 300e, 450e and 550e, where “e” indicates an electrified power plant.

The patent application was filed in Europe and Australia, clarifies Carscoops. The publication recalls that, according to the company’s development strategy, in 2030 every model it produces will have an electric version. And in another five years, in 2035, Lexus will begin producing exclusively electric cars. Accordingly, the registered name may be intended for an electric car, which will be offered in three modifications.

Following the logic of the names of Lexus models, the “junior” HZ 300e will be a mono-drive electric car with one electric motor, the HZ 450e will be an all-wheel drive with a dual-motor installation, and the HZ 550e will be a top-end version with electric motors developing over 400 horsepower.

Lexus previously registered the name for another model, TZ. It will probably also be a crossover, but larger. From documents published in the database of the patent office, it follows that the new product will appear on the market in modifications TZ 450e and TZ 550e.
