The mid-size SUV became the fifth BAIC model in Russia. For now, the new product is available in a single Comfort configuration costing 3,100,000 rubles: this is how much a crossover with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 180 horsepower coupled with a seven-speed robot will cost. In the local BAIC lineup, only the BJ40 SUV (from 4.35 million rubles) is more expensive than the X7.

Serial production of the X7 was launched in Kaliningrad at the end of October this year – on the Avtotor assembly line the crossover joined the U5 Plus sedan, the X35 and X55 SUVs, as well as the BJ40 frame SUV. The model is available with a non-alternative engine, front-wheel drive and in a single configuration. The latter includes LED optics, leather seats, a digital instrument panel and a 12-inch multimedia system screen. The X7 also has surround-view cameras, rear parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel and dual-zone climate control.

In China, the X7 has been on sale since 2020, where the model is called the Beijing X7 and has the status of the flagship of the crossover line. The car, 4.7 meters long and with a wheelbase of 2.8 meters, is a classmate of the Hyundai Santa Fe, which was also previously assembled at Avtotor.

In the near future, the BAIC model line will be replenished with another model, the BJ60 frame SUV, which will be positioned one step higher than the BJ40 and will cost more accordingly. The company previously said that the launch of the BJ60 is scheduled for early 2024.
