Bloggers from the popular Carwow channel staged another race in a straight line, in which three iconic Mazda roadsters met again – the author of the YouTube channel, Mat Watson, entered his own Mazda MX-5, also known as Miata, of the second generation NB. The car is equipped with a compressor engine, and its rivals are a similar standard model without any modifications and the third generation Mazda MX-5 NC in a tuning version with a 248-horsepower engine.
The second generation Mazda Miata NB is equipped with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 146 horsepower and 168 Nm of torque, and the roadster already weighs more than a ton – 1065 kilograms. The blogger’s modified roadster has a number of modifications, including a compressor, which made it possible to obtain an output of 190 horsepower.
The third generation Mazda Miata in the NC body is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 160 horsepower and 188 Nm with a 6-speed manual transmission, and with a weight of 1100 kilograms, it is the heaviest car in the race. However, due to tuning, it is also the most powerful – 248 horsepower and 289 Nm!
