The new model of the Italian brand will be unified with the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600 and will be equipped with an all-electric powertrain. The battery-powered Alpha will have a special design and driver’s character. The crossover will hit the market next year. One of its possible names is Sebring.

The Carscoops website has published renderings of the new Alfa Romeo crossover, previously known as Brennero. The B-SUV segment model will appear in 2024 and will be located a step below the Tonale. It will be based on the STLA Small platform (CMP/eCMP), which means it is closely related to the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600. And the range will include versions with fuel and all-electric powertrains.

The electric crossover will most likely have one electric motor with a capacity of 156 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, a battery with a capacity of 54 kilowatt-hours and will be able to travel up to 400 kilometers on a single charge. The version with an internal combustion engine, in turn, will have a 1.2 turbocharged engine – the base engine for most European Stellantis models. This unit has recently entered its third generation and works great as part of hybrid systems.

According to Alfa Romeo, the new product will “change the rules of the game” and preserve the “sporting DNA” of the brand. By the way, the name for the crossover has not yet been chosen. For some reason, the Brennero option did not work, but the Italians seem to have another one – Sebring. Meanwhile, in the summer, the company turned to loyal fans with a request to help decide on the name of the future model. We will find out very soon what came of this.
