The authors of the Throttle House channel held another race in a straight line, in which the main character was the latest generation Toyota Prius hybrid liftback. In general, this model rarely races in a straight line, so this race became as interesting as possible. Moreover, the competitors of the new product are the “charged” Mazda3 Turbo and Subaru WRX models, more familiar for drag battles, equipped with classic internal combustion engines.

Toyota’s honor is protected by the plug-in hybrid Prius PHEV with recharging function – the most powerful modification in the range, which has a 220-horsepower power plant with a torque of 188 Nm. This liftback weighs 1620 kilograms and is predictably the heaviest of the trio.

Mazda3 Turbo, as the name suggests, has a turbo engine. The 2.4-liter unit of the Japanese hatchback provides 250 horsepower and 434 Nm, which come from 1,539 kilograms of weight.

The Subaru WRX sedan, weighing 1,558 kilograms, has a 2.4-liter turbo engine with 271 horsepower and 350 Nm. It is noteworthy that Toyota is in a losing situation in this battle – rivals from Mazda and Subaru are both more powerful and lighter – but it is still interesting to look at the Prius in an unusual environment.
