A representative of the Chinese company, quoted by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, said that the BJ60 will reach the Russian market early next year. And by the end of 2023, three new models will be put on the conveyor belt of the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant, each of which “will be announced separately.” In the meantime, BAIC sells the X35 and X55 crossovers, the U5 Plus sedan and the BJ40 frame SUV in Russia.

The BJ60 is one of three models in the Beijing BJ line, occupying a niche between the BJ40 and the larger BJ80. All SUVs in this series are united by a frame structure and design in the style of American Jeeps. The “sixtieth” has an independent suspension, all-wheel drive with a reduction gear with three locks, including a front differential lock, and a “mild hybrid” installation with 266 horsepower. It consists of a two-liter gasoline engine, which is assisted by a 48-volt starter-generator. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic.

On the Russian market, the BJ60 will compete with the Tank 500, so it is logical to assume that the models will perform in the same price segment – 6-6.5 million rubles.

Another confirmed new BIAC product for Russia is the X7 crossover, which will be assembled in Kaliningrad. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter “turbo-four” with a capacity of 188 horsepower in conjunction with a “robot”. The model has front-wheel drive.

There is no information yet about the other two models that will be listed on Avtotor before the New Year.

In September, BAIC increased prices for all models in Russia. The most affordable of them, the U5 Plus sedan, now costs more than two million rubles; The X35 lost its basic configuration with a manual transmission, and the starting price of the X55 was close to three million rubles. BAIC BJ40 immediately added almost 300 thousand rubles and costs from 4.35 million rubles.
