Chinese manufacturer who recently [призывал](https://motor.ru/news/chinese-14-08-2023.htm) compatriots to unite and conquer the global auto industry, continues to make ambitious plans. He announced an electric car with the U6 index under the luxury subsidiary brand YangWang, created at the beginning of this year. The main feature of the new product should be the aerodynamic drag coefficient, which exceeds that of all existing production cars – 0.195.

YangWang’s next model was expected to be named U7, as its lineup includes the U8 crossover and U9 electric supercar. Probably, the name U7 will eventually go to a model one step above the U6.

For the title of the most aerodynamic car in the world, the U6 will have to compete with the Lucid Air, whose indicator is 0.197. Second place is occupied by the Mercedes-Benz EQS with 0.20, third place is shared by the Tesla Model S and Nio ET7 with 0.208. The Porsche Taycan, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 5 Series have a drag coefficient at the same level – 0.22.

It is worth noting that all of them are inferior to the Dutch “sun car” Lightyear 0 with an indicator of only 0.175. However, its production stopped in early 2023, just before it began, because the company was on the verge of bankruptcy.

YangWang U6 will likely receive both an all-electric version with four motors with a total output of 1,115 horsepower, and a plug-in hybrid. The manufacturer is also considering the possibility of releasing a more “long-range” EREV version.

The cost, according to insiders, will start at 800 thousand yuan, which is equal to 10.6 million rubles. The main rival of the U6 in China will be the Tesla Model S Plaid with a price of 1,028,900 yuan, or 13.9 million rubles.
