The Skye model will have a 2+2 seating arrangement and a fully enclosed cabin, as well as a twin-engine setup that will allow it to accelerate to 60 mph in four seconds. Ultra-fast battery charging in 10 minutes and special versions aimed at serious off-road use are promised. The price of Skye, according to unofficial data, will be 100 thousand pounds sterling.

Ex-Jaguar designer Ian Callum and his Callum studio have unveiled an SUV that they believe will revolutionize the compact multi-purpose vehicle segment. The electric car is called Skye (obviously, in honor of one of the islands of the Inner Hebrides archipelago in western Scotland), has a 2+2 seating arrangement and a completely enclosed interior. Moreover, unlike the same Polaris from the Xpedition line, the car looks appropriate even for the city. It’s all about the elegant coupe-like body with an accent “loop” on the sides and transparent sections integrated into the lower parts of the doors.

Skye’s dimensions are as follows: length – 4047 millimeters, width – 1900. Weight – 1150 kilograms. The base is a steel space frame to which the trail suspension and 42-kilowatt-hour battery are attached. One charge is enough for about 270 kilometers. A more advanced battery with super-fast charging in 10 minutes is available as an option. The power plant is twin-engine, but its characteristics are not disclosed. It is known that the Skye spends about four seconds to accelerate from zero to 60 mph (97 km/h).

The first prototype of the electric car is promised to be built within a few months. Then resource tests will begin. According to Calum, Skye’s circulation will be in the dozens, but overall the company will look at demand. Detailed specifications will be revealed in the spring of 2024. The car, apparently, will have a basic version and several special ones, including one aimed at off-road use. The price is not named. According to preliminary calculations, it will amount to 100 thousand pounds sterling, or 11 million rubles.
